Medal Awards - U12 & U14 Boys

U12 and U14 boys were presented with their medals on Sunday last 20th Dec in the Community Centre. The U12 medals were presented by our patron Fr. Paddy Mooney and the U14 medals were presented by our president Seamus Walsh. Thanks to all who helped to prepare the hall, serve the food and for clearing up afterwards. The food was supplied by Martina Heneghan Supervalu.
Thanks to Paddy and Mary Petit for their continued help on all of these occasions.
Well done to all concerned.



REMINDERS!!

  • On 27th Dec  at 4.30pm a Gents v Ladies football game with all money raised going to Ability West. Please support.

Weekly Lotto draw - Wednesday 16th December

Last night's Lotto draw saw no winner of the €15000 jackpot; the jackpot carrying over to €16000 for next week's final pre-Christmas draw - what a great way to celebrate Christmas that would be !!


Numbers drawn this week were 1, 3, 14, and 23 with Mary McDermott, Brendan O'Shea and Michael Rattigan matching 3 numbers.

Dates for your diary

Membership 2010

Club membership can be paid to Alphie O'Brien or any club officer as soon as possible.


Fees as follows:-


Adult players   -   €25, plus €25 insurance.
Juvenile and third level €10
Non-playing adults   -   €25
Family memberships as follows:-   2 adults and 2 children U16   -   €50
                                                              2 adults and 3 children U16   -   €60
                                                              2 adults and 4 children U16   -   €65 

AGM - Sunday 13th December 2009

The club's AGM was held on Sunday 13th December in the clubhouse.  The chairperson, Michael Curtin, opened the meeting with a prayer for all those who had suffered bereavement during the year.


The secretary, Mary Davis, provided a review of the club's activities for 2009, and congratulated the U14 team who were successful in the feile, league and championship competitions. She also thanked all those who helped make the 125 year celebration of the GAA such a success. She also thanked those who took part in the Gary Keaveney memorial held in August.




Mary thanked Glenman Corporation, the club's main sponsor, for their continued support and wished them every success in 2010.  In her report Mary also thanked all players and members for their commitment to the club, and for their continued support.  She concluded by thanking her fellow officers for their help and support in 2009.


The treasurer, Kevin Costello, presented a detailed balance sheet.  Kevin thanked all those who support and promote the weekly lotto, and all who buy yearly tickets.  He thanked his fellow officers for their help and support throughout the year.  Kevin informed the meeting that he did not seek re-election.


In his address chairman Michael Curtin thanked Kevin Costello for the great work that he had done throughout the last number of years, with the club and for all the fundraising that he had undertaken.  Michael thanked all members and players for their commitment to the club.  He thanked Glenman Corporation for their sponsorship and all who have sponsored various items during the course of the year.  He also thanked, the pitch committee for their continued work, local schools, lotto supporters and all who help in various ways throughout the year.  Michael thanked Stephen Duane for his work during the past year and welcomed Kenneth Davis who is now working the pitch.  Michael thanked his fellow officers for their efforts in the past year and said that Glenamaddy had a club that they could be proud of.

Michael Curtin thanked all who attended the meeting and called upon Fr Mooney to close the meeting with a prayer.  This concluded the business of the meeting.
